Fatal Radiance - Chapter 12

Description

I am not sure why, but the thought of what happens in this chapter left me with a wee worry about the perception due to the events happening here. In all honesty, the things discussed in this are rather hard to talk about in many instances, but something I found is a good way to develop Vidar's character much further. At first you seem to have a typical fight, then a resolve that makes it appear as if everything turns out okay, just to have it torn apart.

Anyway, we also have the fourth of the five Celestial Souvereigns appear. Asbjörn, the Punishing Hierarch. For a short moment as he is also now providing some divine help. In form of the legendary sword Laevateinn. For everyone who has a few ideas of what the bear is talking about, it is supposed that the sword Laevateinn was forged by Völundr, a legendary blacksmith known all over Northwestern European folklore. Laevateinn itself has little significance however and is never directly named to my knowledge. The name however translates to "damaging stick", which made some suggest it was a magical staff instead, so I took that aspect and added it to the sword.

Furthermore, Vidar now showcases something interesting. The Aether Focus that Aldric and Lucille use at times is now also something he can use as well. More so physically, as his own magic skills are not that well developed. Either way, it was good for the battle, but not enough at the end.

So, next chapter is 13 and it goes back to Khaba and Co.

It's funny how both our stories suddenly involved surprise one-night stand pregnancies. XD At least Vidar will be able to raise his child. (Malakar, however, cannot due to his society's rules and due to his duty)

That ending was so sad! :cries: Such a tragic turn for a happy-looking chapter! Now Vidar has even more motivation to succeed.
